all is well between salman khan and a r rehman says salman kahn on twitter

Ever since news came out about Salman Khan referring to AR Rahman as an “average” composer at an album launch, the Dabangg Khan has found himself in the middle of yet another controversy. A few weeks back, there were reports that Rahman’s legal team had sent a notice to Salman Khan, claiming copyright over the word Jai Ho (the title of Salman Khan's last release).  And since then there have been reports that all is not well between the two.  But Salman Khan has often made sarcastic remarks about several of his colleagues in the industry, and most of the times they are all in jest. However after being accused of having insulted the Oscar Award Winner, Salman Khan has broken his silence on Twitter and commented that all those suggesting some sort of a rift between Rahman and him clearly do not have a sense of humour. After being the darling of the media for the last few years, Salman Khan has had a mixed 2014, with controversies surrounding his dance at SAIFAI, the kite flying session with Narendra Modi, even some of his comments on Bigg Boss and now this supposed rift with Rahman. See what Salman has to say

Wanted: Original script for Salman

Wanted, Bodyguard, Ready and more recently Jai Ho, Salman Khan has had enough of South Indian remakes. So when Ramesh Taurani met him to discuss an upcoming project to be directed by Prabhu Dheva, he made it clear to the producer that he wanted some original ideas.

A source close to Taurani told Mirror, "Salman strongly feels that Southern remakes have run their course. Since he shares a good rapport with Taurani, he candidly told him that he would definitely do the film. But he also added that he wants Prabhu Dehva and Taurani to come up with fresh content.

“She wants to become a director, she is passionate about making films. I am very happy and proud of her. She is working on a script which is a pure hero film. It is completely original film,” Taurani told PTI.

Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi’s Hamari Adhuri Kahaani to go on floors in October

After sharing screen space twice, Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi are on their way to make a hattrick as the on screen couple with ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahaani’.
However, while the film was slated to go on floor in May – June this year, it has now been postponed to October.

Shaadi Ke Side Effects Has Average Opening

Shaadi Ke Side Effects had an average opening at multiplexes on its first morning with collections around the 25-30% mark on its first morning. The opening morning collections were better than last weeks Highway and another multiplex film Hasee Toh Phasee released a few weeks back.

The opening was best in Delhi NCR as some multiplexes registered around 35% occupancy. The initial is not good but also not too bad and growth over the day can help it to a reasonable first day figure though single screens and smaller cities have the expected dull response

The film has chances of putting up good numbers in Delhi and Punjab if it picks as the film holds more appeal for these areas and a high concentration of premium multiplexes.

Aamir Khan: 'I am devoting all my time to Satyamev Jayate'

According to Glamsham, he said: ''I am as engaged with this season of Satyamev Jayate as I was for the first season.

"Just to give you an idea, I am not shooting for any film for the entire year. I am just going to be with Satyamev Jayate 2.

''There are few days of work left with PK, but other than that I am not taking any new film because I am devoting all my time to the show. Not only am I involved in the research, production and shooting of Satyamev Jayate 2, but also for any other issues that crop up after the show is aired.''

Khan was honoured last year for highlighting social discrimination in India through his TV show.

Directed by Satyajit Bhatkal, Satyamev Jayate 2 is scheduled to broadcast from March 2, 2014.

Farhan Akhtar: 'I'm not starring in Raees with Shah Rukh Khan'

In an interview with GlamSham Akhtar clarified his involvement in the film saying: "I think somebody jumped the gun. It's a film that we are producing. Shahrukh is, of course, in the film. But there's some kind of confusion about me being in it.

"That's not entirely true. I was asked whether I was excited to work with Shahrukh. I said yes, but I think it got misconstrued. I'm not in the film as an actor. I'm producing Raees."

Directed by Rahul Dholakia, shooting for Raees begins in mid 2014 while the film is scheduled to release on Eid 2015.

It’s Confirmed: Ranveer Singh And Deepika not In Shuddhi

Finally, it's confirmed! Karan Johar's latest production Shuddhi has Ranveer Singh andDeepika Padukone not in the lead. There were rumours making rounds about the casting of the film. It was first reported that ex loversHrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor will be doing Shuddhi. If Hrithik and Kareena were to do this film, it would have been their reunion after 2003 film Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon.It is rumoured that Hrithik stopped signing films with Kareena because his father barred him from working with her as he could see two of them getting closer to each other. It is believed that Papa Roshan did that to save Hrithik's new married life with Sussanne Roshan. It is believed that Duggy and Kareena were the first choices of Karan Johar. The film has a very unique plot that has a concept of re-birth. Considering the last two films of Kareena were not great at box office, casting Deepika Padukone, who is now the reigning box office queen, is really a wise decision on Karan's part. The last two films of Kareena Kapoor Khan were Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and Satyagraha and both of them didn't help to enhance her brand value. On the other hand, Ranveer and Deepika had a blockbuster hit, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic action thriller Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram Leela. Shuddhi will be their third film

january bollywood lost 100 cr in 2014

For years on end, Bollywood was superstitious about releasing movies in the month of January. However, when films like 'No One Killed Jessica' and 'Agneepath', which released in the first month of 2011 and 2012 respectively, proved successful, it looked like the jinx had been broken. Well, not exactly. A trade source says that January 2014 has, once again, been a jinxed month, with movies losing almost Rs 100 crore.ALSO READ: 'Dedh Ishqiya' triumphs; a dream comeback for MadhuriMr Joe B Carvalho, Sholay 3D, Dedh Ishqiya, Karle Pyaar Karle, Miss Lovely, Om-Dar-Ba-Dar, Parathe Wali Gali, Jai Ho and One By Two — all of them fared below expectations. Though February salvaged the situation to a certain degree by putting out some average earners, the trade is still reeling from the impact of the January duds.

Varun Dhawan pays tribute to Michael Jackson in 'Main Tera Hero'

Mumbai: Newcomer Varun Dhawan has paid a tribute to `King of Pop` Micheal Jackson in his upcoming film `Main Tera Hero`.

Varun, an avid fan of Jackson, has performed some of his signature steps in the songs of the film, directed by his father David Dhawan.

Choreographer duo Bosco-Ceasar incorporated some of MJ`s hugely popular moves in the songs on Varun`s request.

"Varun requested to add few famous steps like the Moonwalk, pelvic thrust in all the four songs of the film. In fact even Bosco-Ceasar agreed instantly as they too are big fans of MJ and wanted to pay him a tribute in their style," a source close to the team said.

Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, `Main Tera Hero` is all set to hit the screens on April 4. The film also stars Ileana D`Cruz and Nargis Fakhri in lead roles.

Third instalment of Kyaa Kool Hain Hum is set to roll

Milap Zaveri, who scripted last year's blockbuster Grand Masti, is keen to recreate the winning combo of sex and comedy. Though he is yet to lock the script for Masti 3, he is busy with another sex comedy, the third instalment of the Kyaa Kool Hain Hum franchise.
"After Grand Masti, Mushtaq (cowriter Mushtaq Sheikh) and I approached Ekta (Kapoor) for whom I've written Shootout At Wadala, The Villian and Main Tera Hero, with an idea for Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3. Even though Induji's (producer-director Indra Kumar) film was panned by the critics, the audience enjoyed all the jokes including the risque ones and Grand Masti went on to gross over Rs 100 crore worldwide. This proves that 90 per cent of India wants to watch such films. So Mushtaq and I urged Ekta to carry forward her Kool franchise. She liked the idea, and gave us the go-ahead," says Milap.

He's pretty sure that Tusshar Kapoor will be a part of the film. But unsure about Riteish Deshmukh who has been saying that he doesn't want to do any more sex comedies and three-hero films. "Both Masti and Kyaa Kool Hain Hum have established themselves as saleable brands. And since we don't take forward the story with the earlier characters, actors can easily be replaced. But I hope that Riteish, who's a dear friend, stays with both franchises given how popular they have become," says Milap.

READ: Riteish wants to say goodbye to sex comedies

Meanwhile, he hopes to roll with his second film as a director, Ooh La La, by September. It revolves around three boys and two girls and will be shot in either Mauritius or Fiji. "It's one of my funniest scripts. Mushtaq has written the screenplay and I've penned the dialogue. I narrated it to Gups (Sanjay Gupta) with whom I've done around nine movies, knowing comedy wasn't his genre. He laughed a lot and after thinking about it for a night and wondering if I wouldn't rather direct an ensemble cast action movie, agreed to produce it for me. It will be Whitefeather Films' first comedy. Gups revived my writing career twice before, with Kaante and Shootout... Let's hope it's third time lucky," says Milap.

However, he's very categorical that Ooh La La is not a sex comedy. Says Milap, "It's a mad, mad caper but not a desi American Pie. It's more in the Golmaal, Housefull, Chashme Baddoor zone given that Rohit Shetty, Sajid Khan and David Dhawan have been my film gurus. The idea is to spin off another successful series with this one, the location changing with every film

Sonam Kapoor
The film is set to go on the floors this October. While who will play the male lead has not yet been finalized, Imran Khan, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Siddharth Roy are being considered for the role. This will be Sonam’s second political act, considering she played a political activist in Raanjhanaa and was lauded for her performance. The actress who herself is an avid reader has previously worked in Aisha which was also a modern interpretation of Jane Austen’s classic Emma.
While we wait for confirmation on the male lead, we would definitely love to see Abhay Deol play Zain Altaf Khan opposite Sonam, their on-screen chemistry surely works for us!

emran hashmi goes scary and bald in mr x

Move over Mr India and Gaayab, Indian cinema is ready to tell the tale of an invisible man again, only this time, it's a cop.

Emraan Hashmi has gone for an extreme makeover in his next Mr X. Fans of his mane would be in for a disappointment as he appears bald in the movie's still, released by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.

Bhatt says, "Mr X is about a cop, (played by Emraan Hashmi) who locks horns with the system against the injustice in society. The still is taken a moment before Emraan goes invisible."

Emraan would be paired opposite Amyra Dastur who made her Bollywood debut with Issaq, opposite Prateik Babbar.

"It's a big budget commercial film, which is basically a love story. Emraan would do everything that's expected of him in mainstream cinema," the filmmakers says.

The still from the movie suggests that Emraan has shaved off his head in the film. Is that true?

Katrina Kaif's Dost Protocol: she says Salman is just a message away

Katrina Kaif's relationship status with Ranbir Kapoor may be complicated or even non-existent at present but at least the Dhoom: 3 actress has one alleged ex-boyfriend she can count on.

In an interview, Katrina Kaif told Dainik bhaskar: "Salman Khan is always there, he is always just a message away. I am still very much in touch with him."

Trouble in the Katrina-Ranbir paradise was reported after their recent holiday to New York and though they were spotted at Aamir Khan's some weeks ago - albeit arriving separately - they are believed to have spent Valentine's Day apart.

Salman, on the other hand, is famously close to both Katrina as well as another ex-girlfriend, former model and actress Sangeeta Bijlani. And it's not just the muscle-bound Dabangg star who watches out for Katrina, the entire Khan-daan does. "We are the only family she has here. She gets pulled up by me, my sister, my father, my mother. And she has to listen, she's good at listening," Salman told NDTV in 2012, a day before the blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger - starring Salman and Katrina - released.

So it was Salman Katrina turned to when it came to her sister Isabel's Bollywood debut - Dr Cabbie, which co-stars Speedy Singhs' Vinay Virmani and The Big Bang Theory's Kunal Nayyar, features Salman's name as co-producer.

Of course, Salman knows all about Being Human but, when it comes to Katrina Kaif, we suspect it goes a little further than just being gentlemanly towards an former flame

when actor imran khan met crickter imran khan

It's a few years since Imran Khan made a name for himself in showbiz. Yet, even today, when he introduces himself to people, he sees eyebrows being raised when he stretches out his hand and says, 'Hi, I'm Imran Khan.'
The actor knows that happens perhaps because the other person called Imran Khan is the world renowned Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician.

Amused, he recounts, "For my entire life, every time I introduce myself — I get the reaction, 'Oh, Imran Khan like the cricketer?' And I have graciously learnt to say, 'Yes'. But I must tell you that when I got an opportunity to meet the cricketing legend, I walked up to him and said, 'Excuse me sir, my name is Imran Khan' and he replied, 'Oh, so you are the one.' His reply left me thinking and speechless for a split second."

"I don't know how it feels being a star. I never look at myself as a star, people feel it that way. I think I am an actor. I am a normal girl who likes to spend time with family and close friends and that is what I enjoy the most," she said.

Saif Ali Khan to do Race 3

Yet another installment to the Race franchise is in the making, and Saif Ali Khan shall continue being a part of it. Confirms producer Ramesh Taurani, “Saif shall definitely be in the film, but the rest of the cast is yet to be decided.” The third installment in this series, is still in the scripting stage, and will take a while for the rest of the cast to be finalised. “We’ll be able to finalise the rest of the cast, only once the script is in place,” adds Taurani. Humshakals also stars Bipasha Basu, Tamannaah and Esha Gupta

Latest sex scandal sends Bollywood filmmakers scampering for cover

CCTVs are no longer enough to protect producers and directors from the potential threat of being accused by aspirants of sexual misconduct. The alarming buzz doing the rounds in the entertainment industry is a complete ban on all interaction with newcomers.

A leading filmmaker known for his high-gloss glamorous passionate films says, "If this can happen to a guy as gentle as Subhash Kapoor it can happen to anyone. I had already made up my mind to keep all interaction with newcomers at the lowest ebb. Now I've decided to completely ban meetings and conversations with aspirants."

And we are not talking about only actors. Even aspiring directors, lyricists, musicians and technicians have come to a zero-access stage with established filmmakers.

Forget a big break. All hopes of any kind of breakthrough are now broken. The matter of filmmaker Subhash Kapoor's public run-in with starlet Geetika Tyagi has re-opened the Pandora's Box in the film industry regarding the ever-sensitive equation between filmmakers and acting aspirants of both sexes.

Some years ago an aspiring actress Preeti Jain accused Madhur Bhandarkar of rape. Bhandakar went through years of tough criminal proceedings before he was finally exonerated of the embarrassing charges. One now hears he is casting 6 new girls in his next film. But they would all have to be sourced and accessed through the casting agent.

"Madhur would meet them directly on the sets," says a source close to the project tersely.

After the Bhandarkar-Jain conflict there have been other loud murmers of sexual dissent. Dibakar Bannerjee and Onir were among the prominent filmmakers who were recently put under the sexual scanner.

Opinion on the accusation of sexual misdemeanour hurled at Subhash Kapoor is sharply in his favour in the film industry. Though only one filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia has come out in open and vocal support of Kapoor, other sections of the industry see the Subhash Kapoor incident as a major turning point in the equation between the film industry and newcomers.

A senior intellectual filmmaker speaking on condition of anonymity says he has a lot of misgivings about the incident. "It somehow doesn't sound right. I don't know Kapoor that well. But I can see a personal element clouding the incident, and that's not good. I used to meet a lot of new talent. But now I am guarding against un-monitored meetings. What if I don't cast someone and she turns around and accuses me of misbehaviour?"

Female casting directors are the need of the hour. More and more filmmakers would rely on professional casting directors preferably of the female gender. All the casting at Yashraj Films is done by Shanoo Sharma while Sanjay Leela Bhansali has lately employed Shruti Mahajan to do all the casting in his films.

Subhash Kapoor continues to get muted support from the film industry. Most filmmakers who spoke in support of Kapoor off the record said to keep them "out of it".

"It is politically incorrect to speak in a man's defense in matters of sexual harassment. Look at how friends of Tarun Tejal are heckled and hounded when they speak for the man. It is insane, the way the dynamics between the two genders work in the work place these days," says an avant garde filmmaker adding that he would think "not just twice but a million times" before casting any newcomers. "And I am not talking about just female newcomers. What guarantee is there that male aspirants wouldn't turn around and accuse a filmmaker like me of sexual misconduct when I don't cast him?"

Ashok Pandit showed the courage to speak openly in the Subhash Kapoor's defense.

Says Pandit heatedly, "The fear of being accused of sexual misbehaviour is palpable in our film industry. Most filmmakers have installed cameras in their offices and don't entertain newcomers in their homes at all. Casting agencies are hired, and they do the auditions and send the DVDs of newcomers to directors. So direct communication between filmmakers and newcomers is jammed."

Without mincing words Pandit states that a lot of the sexual accusations in the entertainment industry are motivated by frustration and the desire to get publicity. "The best way to grab space in the media is to accuse filmmakers of misconduct. Newcomers allow some people to enter their bedrooms to get roles and when the roles don't come their way these newcomers cry rape."

Pandit says these overnight headline grabbers are heading for a career on reality shows. "Finally the gates of Bigg Boss open for these newcomers. Their job is done. But the question of motivation remains. When a newcomer shoots and releases a video with a filmmaker on You Tube, the intentions are crystal clear. Funnily enough you wake up two years after the incident apparently happened claiming that the Tarun Tejpal incident inspired you. The victim in the Tejpal incident had reacted immediately. So the question to be asked from the alleged victim in Subhash Kapoor's case is where were you for two years? Would you have not made the accusation if the Tarun Tejpal case had not 'inspired' you? And would you have made these accusations if Subhash Kapoor had signed you for his film's lead?"

Adds Subhash Ghai, "The story of sexual-harassment accusation exists since the advent of the entertainment industry. Who exploits whom? That's the question in every business sector. Stories about the Casting Couch have always fascinated people. I am no one to judge anyone. Every actor was a newcomer once. But how many of them claimed to have faced harassment?"

According to producer Siddharth Jain a lot of the filmmaker-newcomer logistics depend on the filmmaker. "How we conduct ourselves sends the relevant signals to the newcomers. Only filmmakers with ulterior motives need to be wary. One needs to conduct oneself professionally, that's all. There is no need to get paranoid as long as professional lines are not crossed. I don't know the details of this incident. But I believe if meetings happen during office hours in the presence of the office staff and if parties and alcohol are not used as an excuse for social networking, such incidents won't happen
